First Cannabis Study Done Two Years Ago on Alzheimer’s Patients

Israeli Study On THC Shows Great Promise With Treating Alzheimer’s

IMG_9931

Did You Know:

One of the first Cannabis studies conducted on patients whom have Alzheimer’s was done in 2016 Tel Aviv Israel. It is now 2018, and patients are now using CBD/THC oil to slow down the progression of ALZ & Dementia.

Not only does Cannabis “…slow the production of beta-amyloid proteins, thought to be a hallmark characteristic and key contributor to the progression of Alzheimer’s” …but it also alleviates many symptoms that comes from having a Neurodegenerative Disease.

Anxiety and aggression are often relieved when the mind is stimulated by Medical Cannabis Oil. It diverts the episode from hopeless to hopeful as I carry on my regular day. Now keep in mind Cannabis Oil only works if you keep active and exercise your brain with projects that stimulate our synapsis at play. This is called Adult Neuro Genesis, the generation of brain cells through the plasticity in the brain.

Through healthy living, striving and higher learning, we can stop the progression or at least ease the destruction that ALZ leaves behind in it’s path. When you’re a terminal patient, comfort can be the best gift. Live everyday like it’s your last, but always plan for a bright future.

Can Cannabis Help Prevent And Reverse Dementia?

IMG_7574

Did you know?

Here is another article I read about using CBD to treat Alzheimer’s, dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases.

Now keep in mind, CBD does not treat these diseases alone. It must be taken in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle utilizing functional medicine. And keep in mind that CBD as organic plant extract will be better for you, then using a non-organic flowers.

You are feeding the mind, the brain and the spirit. Give yourself the best oils and you will feel better for it.

“Cohen, who trained under Bredesen, recently founded the Colorado Dementia Prevention and Treatment Center with health coach Kym Hansler and nutritionist Martha Hammel. On May 30, the group will lead a panel discussion on how to use the ReCODE program and cannabis to help treat Alzheimer’s, dementia and other degenerative neurological conditions; the presentation will also focus on how cannabidiol (CBD), a non-psychoactive and anti-inflammatory component of cannabis, can be used as an adjunct therapy for dementia.”

Cannabis Will Become a Priority for the Treatment of Dementia Patients

DSC05336a

 Did you know?

This article predicts Alzheimer’s will be as manageable as HIV within 10 years. Well I predict that Alzheimer’s is manageable now thanks to Cannabis.

The Scientists think they’re prediction is headline news, but what they aren’t telling you is that they already know the answer, they won’t be FUNDED to give the answers until 10 years.

As patients, we bypass the headlines and give our trust to a plant that has stabilized my condition after taking my own health into my own hands. Be proactive and open in your research on how to treat your condition.

There is value is what the Scientists are saying but the underlying message is that chemicals do not stabilize Dementia. Their trusted protocals are now being questioned after promoting Pfizer and top drug making companies.

Why? Because Cannabis is the answer.

Alzheimer’s will be as manageable as HIV within 10 years, predict award-winning scientists

“-Future treatments will stop symptoms developing, rather than reversing them.

-Scientists claim Alzheimer’s will ‘disappear as a major problem from society’.

-They believe dementia drugs often fail trials due to them being taken too late

The scientists discovered the role of protein plaques in the brain in Alzheimer’s

Alzheimer’s affects around 5.5 million in the US and 850,000 people in the UK.

Countdown to Re-legalization

DSC05322a

Did you know?

It’s about 3-4 months till Canada legalizes our Native plant for medical and recreational use. Do I take a sigh of relief or do we need to hide our inherent right to medicate for healing purposes?

If we follow the footsteps of treaty negotiations and the treatment of our Aboriginal Peoples in Canada; we are in for a war on all fronts. But if we follow in the footsteps of our Mother Earth and put the plant first; we will unite under the protection of this sacred medicine. Regardless of race, our rights as patients who need this medicine to live, becomes the driving force.

From an Aboriginal perspective, I praise the efforts of my community to “legally” own the rights and reclaim this Native plant after all this prohibition time. From an Irish Canadian point of view, I hope that women and patients will become the priority and majority in the medical cannabis field.

Again we are at the mercy of the federal government, but if Prime Minister Trudeau actually follows through with legalization, I know I will be in control of my future and won’t be persecuted for seeking a CBD/THC treatment plan.

Then hopefully lead to employing people with disabilities to work in the cannabis industry that will improve our socio-economic future on several levels. We will be able to medicate and balance our work lives to accommodate our disabilities and enrich our culture more so.

After restarting my research, I found this Aboriginal Canadian network that covers exactly my concerns and hopes for our cannabis community.

“National Indigenous Medical Cannabis Association (NIMCA)

“Specifically, NIMCA’s role is the following, but not limited to the self-regulation of Indigenous medical cannabis industry through the application of Indigenous political and economic principals and governance that will:

o Uphold Indigenous sovereignty self-determination

o Protect minors and families;

o Keep organized crime out of legit Indigenous hemp and cannabis industries;

o Provide the education, awareness, policy and capacity necessary to provide quality control and safe handling;

o Develop a cannabis treatment program to combat the opioid crisis that has gripped Indigenous and mainstream society;

o Ensure standardized testing and consistency of product quality;

o Safety and security;

o Education and awareness within the industry and consumers;

o Regulate pricing of products;

o Generate new training, jobs and economy of scale for Indigenous people and nations;

o Ensure fair wages, benefits and a safe work environment for all employees; and,

o To promote the overall health and well-being of all communities.

More Aboriginal Success in Securing the Rights to Our Native Medicines

Phil Fontaine, the former National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations, is partnering in a JOINT venture with Cronos Group called “Indigenous Roots.” There will be many facets of this development that include but are not limited to, Agriculture, Accountant, Wealth participation, Infrastructure and Capacity Building including distribution to bring medicine back home to our Native lands.

Cronos

This agreement also included the aspect of “True BARTER – 50% 50%” to honour the sacred ways our Ancestors used to trade for their living. This is a different approach to working with “Indigenous Roots,” by splitting everything evenly as partners, not just offering money, it’s a working relationship. Will Cronos make right with their promises and allow our medicine people full custody, care and control over our Ancestral processes for growing Cannabis?

Cronos has a Whistler Cannabis production centre that only grows organic. They create their own soil, and meet the standards to be certified 100% organic. But will they fall to using pesticides as two other Cdn. non-related Cannabis grow hubs were caught using pesticides? This is where the home grower comes into play growing their own medicine in order to keep an eye on the quality control and test the actual product instantly.

My hope is that “Indigenous Roots” will represent our culture in a good way. The way of the Red Road, to encourage sobriety and responsible dosing. Once our Elders and community starts healing through oil, I believe PTSD could be a thing of the past. Will Cronos embrace the traditional without exploiting it? If their partnership works out, First Nations socio-economic conditions could improve drastically and stop the cycle of violence stemming from our past. It’s about time we see some Nishnawbe power house partnerships that will put our community…back on the ancestral map.

BC First Nations Introduce Traditional Law For Cannabis Re-legalization

First Nations
First Nations

Did you know?

BC First Nations jumped at the chance to introduce Traditional Law for Cannabis re-legalization. British Columbia (BC) is located on the West Coast of Canada where the sea meets the sky. This heavily forestry-enriched territory is set to legalize Cannabis possibly July 1, 2018. What do the Four Host First Nations of the Traditional Coast Salish Territory have to say about this matter?

“…[M}edicinal herbs and plants found and cultivated on traditional territory are protected under “Ayookxw”, or traditional law.”

Now that Cannabis will be traditionally and readily available to the community in a healing capacity, a reconciliation process will begin. As a result, there will be a renewed economic independence, access to services for Elders and solidarity through recovery; that comes from the repatriation of Medical Marijuana.

“Several members dealing with conditions like cancer, diabetes, and fibromyalgia have found relief, while others have used it to help remove their dependence on alcohol and other drugs.”

This is the economic push that will improve living conditions on Reserves; and restore cultivating traditions on ancestral land after this traditional plant has been outlawed for so long.

Seniors Turning To Cannabis For Relief

Treat our Elders RIGHT!
Treat our Elders RIGHT!

Did you know?

Seniors are the fastest growing demographic to changeover from drugs to all natural Cannabis. According to the Canadian Globe & Mail article “Seniors Turning To Cannabis For Relief,” by Jeff Bassett, (April 14th 2017); they interviewed a “79 year-old Great-Grandmother” who was adamantly opposed to any Cannabis treatment options. She was suffering from chronic osteoarthritis in her back confining her to bed. Her next step was opiates, she realized that there must be better options out there. Eventually she was introduced to a “…daily dose of cannabidiol (CBD), a potent extract of cannabis or hemp.”

“Unlike THC – the psychoactive component in cannabis – pure CBD has medicinal properties without any “high.” Her apprehension was paramount as she considered Cannabis to be a drugs too. It was her desperation to gain her independence back that motivated her to try an all-natural plant before prescription opiates.

She woke up the next day with no pain, now her routine includes a spoonful for micro-dosing. There is a healing value in Medical Marijuana that can replace habit forming drugs. Quickly she gained her freedom back and become the carefree Great Grandmother her family always knew. Thanks to CBD oil, there is one less Senior that is suffering and one less family overwhelmed.

Cannabis Could Help Cure Alzheimer’s

Did You Know?

Forbes recently posted an article on “Experts: Cannabis Could Help Cure Alzheimer’s If Lawmakers Would Chill Out” by Janet Burns.

This article claims Lawmakers are essentially blocking the Medical Marijuana movement because of the pharma industries.

“According to Schubert, that’s because pharmaceutical companies are not just trying to prevent cannabis cures, but also on the wrong track for finding their own.”

Although Pharma is actively working on medicine to treat Alzheimer’s called “Inhibitors,” unfortunately when you hit that stage, the pro-actions are too little, too late. They have also looked into a way of using Cannabis as medicine but they would have little control over the market.

“CNBC also noted that, while an estimated one in three seniors will die fighting dementia and a new Alzheimer’s diagnosis is delivered every 66 seconds, the costs of holding back effective treatment don’t just involve human life.”

It’s no longer just about recreational use, it’s about the right to stay alive by simply extracting healing compounds from a plant. Since the aging population has become the largest group to switchover to Cannabis, stories will emerge about patients fighting off one of the most inhumane diseases in the world.

RElegalization for Canada

Canada is Poised to Re-legalize Cannabis

Patients Helping Patients Around The World – Blog #1

Research is needed

Did You Know?

Canada is poised to re-legalize Cannabis come July 1, 2018. After years of misunderstanding the medicinal compounds of Cannabis, Canada has been preparing in the background. Local news sources have dedicated columns to educate Canadians about the impact of these new laws.

Some provinces in Canada are mandating government run dispensaries, the others will allow some privatized locations under the guise of the Cannabis Act. More federal funds are now being allocated to stricter border control and education kits for parents to discuss with the kids.

This seed carries a spectrum of healing properties that could repair a nation, a country, a brain that was once broken. However, it is up to the Cannabis Community in Canada to set a standard by sharing information with progressive medical professionals. If there will be any positive changes in the medical system, it will be coming from the patients who have become the teachers.

What is Frontotemporal Dementia?

FTD

“Frontotemporal Dementia occurs when nerve cells in the frontal and/or temporal lobes of the brain die, and the pathways that connect the lobes change. Some of the chemical messengers that transmit signals between nerve cells are also lost. Over time, as more and more nerve cells die, the brain tissue in the frontal and temporal lobes shrinks.

When the frontal and/or temporal lobes are damaged in this way, this causes the symptoms of FTD. These include changes in personality and behaviour, and difficulties with language. These symptoms are different from the memory loss often associated with more common types of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s disease. As FTD is a less common form of dementia, many people (including some health professionals) may not have heard of it.”
